Crispy Sugar Tortillas

- 2 Cups All-purpose flour
- 1/2 Cup yellow cornmeal
- 1/3 Cup granulated sugar
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1 pinch salt
- 1/3 Cup butter-flavored shortening or margarine
- 1/2 Cup hot water
Mix all dry ingredients
Add shortening or butter and cut into mixture until crumbly
Make a well in the center and add water
Mix until a soft-ball forms
Knead well
Divide dough into 30 small balls
Let stand 15 minutes
Roll each ball into a flat circle and cook on hot griddle, turning once or twice.
