Ingredients
- 2 cups Flour
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 5 tbsp Heaping Tablespoons of shortening
- ½ cup hot water
Instructions
- Blend flour, salt, and baking powder with a fork
- Cut in shortening
- add hot water
- Complete mixing the dough by hand and shape into a large ball
- Let rest 5-10 minutes
- Divide dough into 10 portions and shape into balls
- Lightly flour surface if the dough is sticky
- Roll each ball into a thin circle
- Cook on a griddle over medium heat, approximately 1 minute
- Then turn and cook for about 30 seconds on other side.
- Do not overcook as the tortillas will get too hard.
